All scheduled classes are held at the Vancouver dojo space, at 4153 Fraser Street, Vancouver, BC, unless otherwise indicated.

Prospective/New Members and Visitors

To find out more about Aikido and what the training is like at our school, you are welcome to visit the dojo to observe a class.  Please Contact Us in advance of your visit so that we may expect you.

99-00-20.gif (1007 bytes) All instruction at Mountain Coast Aikikai is conducted under the direction of Mr. Jobe Groot, 5th dan, Shidoin (Certified Instructor). 
99-00-20.gif (1007 bytes) Prospective members are invited to observe a class. (New members are invited to observe at least one class, prior to enrolling at our school ). To make an appointment to observe a class, please contact the dojo in advance of your visit.  Alternatively, you may come to the dojo at least 5 minutes before the start of a class.
99-00-20.gif (1007 bytes) Regular members may attend an unlimited number Aikido body arts and weapons classes offered by Mountain Coast Aikikai.  Selected Mountain Coast Aikikai classes are open to Vancouver Mind-Body Centre Aikido members and vice-versa. Members wishing to attend weapons classes are requested to make a commitment to regular attendance and must obtain the permission of the Chief Instructor prior to participating in these classes.
99-00-20.gif (1007 bytes) Drop-In, or visiting Aikidoists from other dojos are welcome to drop-in and train with us.   There is a nominal mat fee for drop-ins.   Please contact the dojo in advance of your visit, so that we may expect you
99-00-20.gif (1007 bytes) The dojo is usually closed on major Canadian Statutory Holidays. Please note that the dojo closes for a winter break at the end of the year, typically from around December 21st through December 31st.
